Happy 4th of July!

What an incredible holiday! Our goal was to keep J Man as busy as possible, so we decided to start off the morning at Gatorland!

This was our first family trip and Jayden was in awe of the gators! Todd and I hadn’t been since we were kids, so we were looking forward to sharing this experience with J too! We met up with his best buddy from daycare, Xander, and his mommy and daddy. The boys were priceless and wanted to touch everything!

We watched the Gator Wrestling Show and took the Gatorland Express train around the park! Then we were off to the Gator Gully Splash Park so the little guys could cool off!

After an extremely tiring morning, the boys were asleep before we even pulled out of the parking lot! So precious…….

After Gatorland, we headed back to Clermont so we could get ready to host our family BBQ! Mom, Cathy, Memaw and Pa we’re suppose to come, but it ended up just being Mom and Cathy because Memaw and Pa had colds.  We were disappointed because we wanted to share the news of Baby #2 with the entire family! However, it was too suspenseful not to cave and tell Mom and Cathy!
We borrowed a Big Bro shirt from the Colavecchio family (I owe Catherine!) and dressed Jayden in it prior to him coming downstairs after his nap. Todd and I were dying with anticipation wondering how long it would take them to figure it out! We walked J down the steps and then he ran to Grandma. While she was giving him lots of kisses she said, “How cute are you in your Big Bro shirt!” It was quite hilarious since she didn’t clue into the significance of the shirt! Todd had to prep her by saying “What did you say Sharon?” Then her and Cathy began saying “Big Bro”……they thought Todd was out of his mind. Then all of a sudden my mom said, “Big Bro….Big Brother Todd!  (Like he was crazy!) What? You’re pregnant?!?!” Then of course there were lots of tears and hugs! Quite priceless! How I wish I would have caught it on video!

We had several appetizers and Todd grilled us some delicious hotdogs! Then we curled up and watched the Macy’s firework special on TV. Jayden was fascinated and sat on Grandma’s lap for at least thirty minutes! I couldn’t have asked for a better 4th of July! Hope you all had as great a day as the Shappard’s!

  1. Fun photos Heather. Oh how the boys and I love this B theme park so much! When J's older, are you going to let him sit on the 'real' gator? Cousin Finn can show him how it's done. {he did it a few years ago {i was terrified}
