My Little Guppy

Todd and I took Jayden swimming for the first time last Saturday at the Arnold’s. He was so precious in his little suit and matching hat! They had a little plastic pool for the babies that we let him try first. He went to town splashing! I was shocked to see that he had no FEAR! He absolutely adored the water!

After he got used to the little pool, I took him in the big pool. We had so much fun and I can’t wait to bring him again!

After an afternoon of swimming, Jayden chilled until he fell asleep in the swing! What a day!!!

Happy Easter

Today was such a special day for our family. I woke to breakfast in bed curtsy of my hubby and then we shared our first Easter with Jayden. We went to church and heard an amazing sermon by our pastor. He reminded us that Easter isn’t about an Easter Bunny and candy, but the resurrection of Jesus Christ. He had us in stitches and I am so appreciative to belong to such an amazing church.
After church, we came home and gave Jayden his first Easter basket. He loved it!! He pulled his soccer ball out and his sun glasses! I can’t wait until he can go egg hunting next year!

After Jayden’s basket, we headed to my mom’s for an early dinner. It was wonderful seeing the family and having a delicious meal. Jayden entertained us, especially with his multiple Easter outfit changes! (I tend to buy a multitude of holiday outfits!)

We want to wish everyone a happy Easter. We love all of you and hope you had a special day no matter where you were or what you did!

The First Shappard Family Dinner

Todd’s sister Stacey had a great idea about getting the family together for monthly family dinners. So collectively we all agreed that we would take turns hosting the dinners, which would be held on the 4th Saturday of each month. This month we started the tradition at Todd’s parents home. We had fried chicken, beans, potato salad, and a blue cheese vinaigrette salad. We all had a blast and Jayden loved hanging out with his cousins Aidan, Marc and Kristen. We can’t wait for the next one!

Jayden's "FIRSTS"

First Tooth/Teeth - Saturday, March 19
Jayden has been drooling for several weeks now, so we knew that there would be a tooth coming soon. Little did we know that we would have 2 teeth come in at the same time! (Ear Infection + Cutting Teeth = Long night for Mommy and Daddy!)They’re his two bottom front teeth and they’re precious. It’s hard to see them because he is constantly pushing his tongue over them, but you can definitely feel them!

Jumped in the Jumperoo WITHOUT a Pillow - Friday, March 25

Friday afternoon Jayden jumped in the jumperoo without a pillow underneath him for the first time. I feel like he is starting Kindergarten next week! If he could only stay this small forver!
Held the Bottle (Without Milk That Is) - Saturday, March 26

Slept Through the Night - Tuesday, March 29

Tuesday night I went out to dinner with my two girlfriend’s Gina and Karen. I got home around 8:30 and my little man was taking a nap. I was exhausted, so I went to rest upstairs with Todd for a few. I woke up a few hours later to Jayden sleeping in the big bed with me! (Todd was nowhere to be found!) A few minutes later Todd came upstairs and fed the little guy. I obviously fell back asleep because I woke back up at 5:45 with just Todd in the bed. My first thought was that I must have very exhausted if I didn’t even hear Jayden on the monitor when he woke up in the middle of the night. Since he was talking to himself in his crib, I went to pick him up and bring him in the big bed for some cuddling! Todd woke up and proceeded to tell me that he didn’t get up either and that meant……………….JAYDEN SLEPT THROUGH AN ENTIRE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Had a Spoonful of Baby Food - Wednesday, March 30

Wednesday night Jayden had his first taste of sweet potatoes! We went to visit my mom from the evening and I thought it would be sweet to share this special moment with my family. (Especially my grandparents.) Jayden surprised us all and at half the container! He did very well with the spoon and didn’t push it out with his tongue. His favorite part was holding on to the spoon…..he was very possessive!

Jayden's Big Play Date

What could be cuter than four babies between the ages of 3 – 6 months? NOTHING!

Jayden, Cooper, Ella, Xander

Last Saturday I hosted a Lockheed Martin Mommy’s Play Date and Jayden and I had the most amazing time! There must have been something in the drinking water at Lockheed last year because several women at LM got pregnant around the same time. We talk about our babies all the time and we either know each other at work or via Facebook. So I thought it would be a great idea to host a Play Date with all of us!

I found the perfect invitation that had a little yellow duck on it. I wanted to somehow carryout the theme at the play date, so I purchased a yellow ducky for each person and had them floating in a bowl on top of their plates.  I served a fabulous blue cheese vinaigrette salad and provided mini subs.  Tara brought a delicious cream dessert with berries that was fabulous! Between the food and the baby talk it was a fabulous time! We can’t wait to do it again!

P.S. Thanks to Chris for helping me keep all the babies entertained!
