We just got back from taking a wonderful vacation to St. Augustine for John D.’s wedding! We stayed at an idyllic bed and breakfast where Jayden met his first girlfriend, Elizabeth! Jayden was amazing the entire weekend. It was as if he knew he was supposed to be on his best behavior. He slept through our romantic dinner at the Columbian (as romantic as you can be with a newborn), the wedding ceremony and the reception. We can’t wait to go back!

Christmas
Cinnamon buns and stockings! Todd and I wanted to start a special Christmas morning tradition with Jayden. So we decided that like my family, we would get up and have cinnamon buns while we opened our stockings from Santa. It was such a tease only being able to open our stockings and not the rest of our presents!
We’d decided as a family that we would wait until Colin and Katie arrived to open our gifts. It was worth the wait! We had an incredible Christmas Day filled with new traditions! We opened gifts before and after dinner, which consisted of a fabulous prime rib roast, salad and twice baked potatoes for dinner.
Jayden made it such a special Christmas! Plus it was so amazing to have Colin and Katie home. This year was perfect!

Christmas Eve
It’s finally here!! I thought Christmas would never get here! I’ve been patiently waiting for Jayden’s first Christmas! This morning I practically shook Todd awake I was so excited! I got up at 5:30 with Jayden and decided to do some baking for our neighbors. After I baked one loaf of banana bread I then went out to grab more ingredients at the store, a Starbucks treat and bagels at Panera. I surprised my mom and dropped off some at their house around 7:30 and then headed back to my house to continue baking.
When Todd and Jayden got up we relaxed and then delivered the baked goods to our neighbors. It was so nice meeting them and introducing them to little man! He was so precious in his “Santa’s Little Helper” outfit!
After delivering the food, we came home and got dressed for the big Coffey Christmas Eve celebration! However, before we left for the event, we had a very important family tradition to uphold…..the opening of one gift! Ever since I was a child, my mom would always let everyone open one gift on Christmas Eve. Todd seemed thrilled at the prospect! I had Todd and baby open their gifts first. I got Todd pajama pants, which he has never had! Then Todd and I got JC his first Christmas book!
Now did I mention to you that the Christmas Eve gift is supposed to be small or at least it always was in my family! Well of course Todd never follows the rules! He handed me a bag and inside was the most beautiful pair of diamond hoop earrings! Lol, it was small, but not small in price! I almost started to cry, not just because they were so precious, but because I had just spent five minutes upstairs searching desperately for appropriate earrings to wear with my dress! What an amazing husband!!!
After opening gifts we headed to my mom’s where her entire family was gathered! We had an incredible evening and the rest of the family got to meet Jayden. All the excitement wore Jayden out; he slept through the best part….the presents!

Todd and Fatherhood
"Any man can be a Father but it takes someone special to be a dad." -- Anne Geddes
Todd is that someone special. I knew before I married him that he would be an incredible father. It is a pleasure just watching him with our son. He is so patient and loving. I know that Todd is the type of father that every child would dream of having. I’m so proud of the amazing father and man that I married.

One Month Check-Up
Wow, I can’t believe my baby is one month old! Today we had his check-up. He got his second Hepatitis B shot. He cried for just a few seconds, which broke my heart of course! He weighed in at 9.25 pounds (24th Percentile) and 21 ½ inches (40th Percentile)! He has now been to the pediatrician twice and he has yet to pee on the nurse or walls when they have to weigh him naked!
SANTA
Ever sense the Mall of Millenia opened in Orlando, I have dreamed of bringing my child to see Santa at their fabulous winter wonderland! I attempted to explain this to Todd, but I don’t think he quite understood my fervor! (I think the hour and forty five minute wait was swaying his opinion!)
I can’t even begin to express how excited I was to bring Jayden to see Santa today! It was everything I had imagined it would be! His face was priceless! He had just woke up and was just a little bit confused as to who the man with the white beard was. We got some great pictures and a classic video.

Jayden's First Smile
This morning Todd came over to kiss Jayden and I goodbye and Jayden surprised us both with his first smile! Of course we have seen it before, but it was always gas related. Lol, this was the real deal! He loves his Daddy and he rewarded him with a huge smile when he kissed him and talked to him.
I love the two men in my life and their smiles!

Merry Christmas
How I have been patiently waiting to do our first family Christmas card! Last Christmas, prior to us being pregnant, I told Todd how I couldn’t wait until we had a family and we could do a family portrait on our Christmas card! Well since Jayden’s Christmas shot was so precious, we didn’t want to ruin it by throwing Todd and I in the picture!
Wishing you and yours a Happy Holiday!

Jayden's First Christmas Tree
“Todd, I don’t know if it’s big enough?”
This is what my comment was to Todd when we found “The” tree. Todd made me a promise that he would buy me a BIG tree for our first Christmas in our new home and for Jayden’s first Christmas. With our 25 ft. ceiling, I wanted to go BIG! Lol, so aisle by aisle we went looking for the perfect one.
Finally we found it! Lol, little did I know how big it would be when we actually got it into our house!

Thanksgiving
Jayden’s first Thanksgiving! This is our first official family holiday. I had such an amazing day! We woke up this morning and just spent time with Jayden. Aunt Cathy and Mom only asked us to bring wine and rolls, which meant I didn’t need to spend the morning in the kitchen cooking! We headed over to Mom’s about 3:00 and relaxed with the family until dinner. Cathy made a delicious dinner and dessert. The only thing missing was Colin and Katie. (Colin was in Ft. Walton busily cooking his first turkey while Katie was at work!)
